Just returned from Calgary, Canada. Beautiful province even had thoughts of maybe living there until I walked out of my hotel Saturday morning into a blizzard. And apparently it doesn't get really warm there until June.
I was there to conduct an auction for a Catholic School - everyone was so, so Catholic. The gala was incredible, very well attended and all dressed to the nines - delicious food and great company.
I am now trying to get help with using social media more - necessity is, as is said, the mother of invention, in my case it has to be the mother of my supporting myself - I need to have more paying speaking engagements and selling more books. My second book has just sold over one-thousand copies which is pretty good considering it's all word-of-mouth still. I have already gathered all the available video clips of myself and sent to an editor to have it made into a format for the web. It's all a little mysterious to me that's why I'm getting help.
Now I'm focused on the Caron gala on the 16th and then packing for England!!! The weather in England has been dreadful - loads of rain; and to think that this time last year I was in England for the Royal Wedding and the weather was glorious, sunny and warm. I hope it's at least decent during the major Jubilee festivities especially the parade of vessels up the Thames. Don't know if it's up or down the Thames.
Tonight I'm leading the meditation at New York Insight, it will be focused on the Fifth Step of recovery as seen through the eye of Buddhisim. The person who usually leads is on retreat with U-Tejania which I would love to have attended but I'd already committed to Calgary. I rarely get nervous before speaking but for some reason I'm a tad nervous about this assignment. But I have no doubt the world will still be spinning tomorrow.
Talking about the world spinning - what about that moon Saturday night? Wasn't it extraordinary!
Of course I'll be entering again after England. So, so excited.
